Hey there people! Hello once again it’s been awhile since I’ve last blogged…haha…and as a quick reminder, UNCLE SIEW!!!! POST A BLOG!!!!!!!!! :-P
Now, cut straight to the point. As the title suggested, Dari Bandar Ke Lumpur as translated will become ‘From City to Mud’. Well I guess everyone now may wonder what does it has to do with DBKL or is it about the City Hall? BINGO…you got that right!! It’s precisely what I’m talking about. Now as a LITERATURE SUTDENT…(ahheeemmm) from the title itself it suggests the performance of our country’s City Hall. Well I’m not going to use any offensive or vulgar wordings being a civilized citizen as I am…(AHHHEEEMMM) but u get what I mean. And there’s no use of such wordings to describe this ‘bunch’ of…. U decide as Mud is enough to describe them. It could be worse, but as I say, we are civilized HUMANS. Well after reading The Star newspaper on page M4 today, it came such a delight to me that there were three demonstrations in a day about the City Hall!!! Not surprising anyway…but I guess these people (dbkl) are not going to give a damn about this (AS USUAL…)
We can say that the City Hall is one of the sources of our country’s developments, but is it true?
We can say that the City Hall is doing our country and nation well, but HOW FAR THE TRUTH IS???
We can say that the City Hall is doing their job, but HOW SURE ARE WE???
All I can say is promise is just mere disappointment. I’m always wondering, each year large sums of money is basically ‘generated’ for them and what have they actually done for us? Oh yes!! Lots of it!! Crashing down food stalls small business area without a PROPER REASON, pending the appeals, license etc without any reasons and worse still, rejecting them. and the reason they give, oh, there’re just tooooo many things to be done and it’s not only your issue we’re dealing with blah blah blah… what utter crap and nonsense is this! Come on mann, u people have no reason at all to reject the license and applications of the citizens who had meet and fulfilled all the requirements that has been stated. Back to the article I’ve just read, again, about demolishing stalls and building unnecessary ‘objects’ that’ll obstruct the convenience of the public and the citizens is their nature. Its just a way to shut our mouths and say that ‘oh!! See, we’ve done so many major developments and improvements to the society BLAH BLAH BLAH’ oh yes indeed, indeed =_= but still, back to the point, the rights of the citizens and the situation has to be taken into consideration for goodness sake! U can’t just go around demolishing stuff and rebuilt again and VOOOSHH…there goes another project and what about the citizens? For instance let us refer to the third demonstration of the day whereby residents of Kg. Abdullah Hukum were unsatisfied about the pending lists of residents to be moved to a new apartment as promise. All they want is an answer. That’s all and yet again, pending without any reasons… that is what you call a responsible LOCAL AUTHORITY? Hello!! (KNOCK KNOCK!!) Reality check here… you don’t aspect the citizens will just keep quiet and think they’ll be as dumb as a wood like those days…century has changed people!
And talking about abandoned projects, I can say ‘what a disgrace to our country!’ where has all the money been to? Into their pot bellies? Hmmm… something to think about. I have just the perfect example right beside my apartment where there’s this soon-to-be multi-purpose complex which mainly consists of the wet and dry market and even a library =_= ?! and according to the huge notice and details board in front, it was supposed to be completed at the end of 2006…how shameful is that… furthermore its just a 2 or 3 stories building and is not that enormous that you need a long time to complete. I’m sure that you guys had witnessed those unfinished project that stood in the middle of a nice crafted landscape like a piece of rotten metal I would call that. One thing its so displeasing to the eyes and the view and secondly it shows that we can’t even afford to finish such minor projects, don’t even talk about those huge ones. In Singapore, you can never, never see this happening.
Sometimes one may not be bothered about it coz they know that they can’t actually do much about it. And I’m not going to raise the fact about racial issues but to let you guys to ponder about it. Not just that, as long as you have MONEY, everything will be well settled… now u know what I’m talking about. Well of course this also happens in other major departments and authorities…but don’t you think it’s a little unfair for those people who are of low salary payment? God knows what you’ve done. Enough said.
What we hoped for is just to perform your duties and responsibilities accordingly and at least give the people some valid answer and explanation on the reason why a particular issue is rejected, pended and etc. and please…do good to the people and we’ll truly appreciate it.
