To nature's path, to human's soul

As I've studied in literature, John Keats, whom I really wished to dig him up of his grave and swear the brains out of him for making our life miserable with the questioning of his so called 'role of a poet' He's no doubt famous for his odes and more importantly, one of the significant characteristics of his poems are often associated with imaginations and the natural world. Though dreadful and indecisive about the feelings and emotions that are attached to him and most of the time, he's sort of in the state of 'intoxication', somehow, I do find what he said is what we, humans have begin to lost touch of. That is to be one with nature. Although it may not be such an important factor that influences our daily lives, but look at it from this perspective, once we die, we are buried, we decay, we rot and our parts are digested by the fungi and microorganisms, in the end, we will return to earth, our soul is permanent, but our bodily shell will soon returned to where it belonged.

Well I guess you kinda know what I'm gonna do next..hahaha...YES! a poem! haha!! alright, I actually composed this in the LRT as I splendidly forgotten to bring along my mp3 during a loooooog journey and it was after a rain that sparked the writing soul in me...muahaha...it's basically a piece that shows the sounds and senses of mother nature that affects the persona and how nature brings him closer to himself and the fountain within him.

(To nature’s path, to human’s soul)

A rainbow always comes after a pour,
And sunshine comes after a gloom.
When I looked into the woods,
And breathe a breath of earth-scented nature…
How it sooths vengeance soul, my fiery nerves.
The mist-veiled hills and mountains,
Became the altar of the whispering guardian.
The river carries the souls of the jagged stones
And mighty pebbles,
Down to a stream of little voices…
I looked at heaven again,
The rainbow banished,
The sun a giant ball of warmth,
Melting the winter barrier of the inhabitants,
Who are yet to be one with nature.

A trip to a town of nature

Good day! Good times always passed like a bullet train and yes, I had an awesome weekend with the children and volunteers of the Special Needs Learning Centre (SNLC) of Bukit Nanas which is where my brother is having his schooling. A trip was organized by the centre to Sg. Klah’s hot spring resort which is situated in the FELDA residence. By god, it was really a get-away from the hustle and bustle of city life! Not to mention the hot spring and the greens were just mesmerizing, even the resort area was a paradise! Guys, you people should seriously consider to make a trip there and I’m sure you will never forget.

It took us about 1 and a half hour drive to Sungkai exit at the highway and about 35 minutes drive towards the hot spring resort. I’m seriously thankful that I made it for the trip as I thought it was just another boring ‘rural trip’ and boy I was wrong! We just had so much fun there, everyone basically enjoyed themselves to the max and I was glad that the children did had fun too =D so for the first day, some of them reached there way earlier than us so they proceeded to the hot spring first. We met the group at the cafeteria and after lunch we went to the lobby to check in and I was kinda shocked to fin that the rooms were decently kept with simplicity and the best thing is the room was spacious! It can even fit 2 king size beds in the room with lots of space left. Although it was not as luxurious as those in the cities, but this is the whole purpose of it! Simplicity in the town of nature. Ha-ha.

We spent most of our late afternoon walking around the whole area from the palm estate to the spot of the hot spring then the rest of the evening was free and easy whereby me and my brother with a couple of families went to the hot spring therapeutic spot with individual pools and a stream of spring water running across the lane of rocks for foot reflexology. The temperature of the spring can reach till 50 degrees which we basically jumped like ants on a hot pan when we immersed our legs in the pools and especially walking on stones with hot water really made all of us went jumping like monkeys! XD there were various pools with different temperatures and all one has to do was just to soak your legs or immerse yourself into the pool of steaming spring water. It was really crazy at first since the water was so freaking hot, but surprisingly after awhile, you will actually get used to the temperature. We then went to the cold spot where an artificial waterfall lied and it’s actually a huge pool like those in Sunway Lagoon. It was really hilarious where the children will be sitting on us and we had a ‘pool fight’ and we men actually fought against each other. Hahaha! It was fun to see us drowning and defeating each other. Haha… then, it’s time for the hot pool where the water was even warmer than before. You can basically feel the scorching heat of the water on your skin especially when you’re topless =_=’ yeah… I was forced to strip…=.=’’’ and by the time when your lower body touched the water…my goodness. It feels like a zillion years…(you get what I mean especially for the guys =_=’…)

After dinner at the coffeehouse, we danced and sang all night long with the children. It was just fun all the way. Everyone was shy at first then all the funny dance moves started to kick in we were laughing our lungs out at some of the children and parents’ dances.

We went soccer with the children the next day in the morning after breakfast. It was another crazy moment. All the parents and siblings started screaming and yelling when the ball came to them or they’ll be yelling ‘KICK TO ME! KICK TO ME!!!’ hahaha…I actually played barefooted until I had my front toe injured =_=’ no big deal. Just a little blood here and there and that’s about it. XD but I still managed to pass the ball to them for our very first goal hahaha! Later on, we went for the egg boiling activity which was kinda weird to see eggs being ‘boiled’ in the pool of water. Can you imagine how hot the water was that only 8 minutes is required to have a full-boiled egg. See photos below :p

Went to pool again and had lunch before we checked out. It was really a journey worth the remembrance. Not only we got to experience all the interesting stuff but going on a trip with these kind of special kids made the trip even more meaningful than ever. =D definitely looking for another trip like that in future.

A game of Tennis

Good day guys! I've decided not to post any poems today although originally I intended to do so and one friend of mine actually said 'Don't just post bout your poems lar...very boring you know...post something about your life mar...' =.=' yup... this was what he said..haha...

Anyway, it was quite an interesting day today. A buddy of mine and I went for tennis at YMCA and it was our first time having this game together as neither of us too had any skills..hahaha =P it was drizzling by the time we started off...and Bloody me, I should have brought a cap along as I have to play under the Bloody rain for a good 20 minutes =_='' but thankfully it was not that heavy and I seriously hope that I'll not fall sick coz I still have an outing tomorrow...back to the tennis court...yup...so there you go, the two of us, tennis balls 'flying' everywhere and I can proudly say that the balls too 'flew' out of court as well...hahaha...well you can't blame us right, after all these years of 'inexperience'...haha but somehow we managed to survived through =D it seemed like a rough start but gradually when we're more familiar and got used to the whole game, only then things turned better as there was less balls that flew out the court, BUT the amount of running here and there in the court had not been lesser..haha..well it's kinda hard to tell who is the better one but still I think Kit Wai can be accounted for it...i think his hitting skills and the way he grip and grab the racket was waaay better than mine as I still have the problem of gripping it like a badminton racket...so, way to go buddy!! haha...guessed he watched a lot of tennis tournaments =p as I said at least we made it through...was tiring though but Kit Wai was already half dead by then..muahahaha...Went back to college to change up, had a bottle of H2O and a slice of bread to prevent a 'stomach breakdown' (got such theory meh?) hahaha...and oh yes, I think we sweat more than we drank...haha..so you can imagine how drenched we were and how smart were we to wear a white top which he regarded as 'so sexy' when it drenched through our spine...hahaha so I din really dare to walk straight along the way, (you got the reason why... XD )

Therefore, Choon Hui + Kit Wai = possible DISASTER+plenty of groans =D hahahahaha!!!

It was nice game and good start after all =) at least we got to run around and we did a few cool shots and it was quite coordinated, surprisingly :-) in fact, no doubt that both of us had the strength but definitely not the skills...haha..so we need more practise indeed and more youtube I guess? haha! =D

Trapped within Ourselves...

Hey guys! Good evening! (The fact is I’m posting at night) duh! Ha-ha. Alright once again the poet’s instinct (ahem!!! Clears throat…) =P strikes me after an evening nap muahaha!. Anyway I’m in a midst of composing yet another poem; unfortunately it’s still under construction ha-ha. Will be up soon in no time =)

Sometimes, we often let our minds and feelings get the better of us. Try asking yourself how it feels when at times you just can’t seem to let out your feelings and it’s not that you don’t want to but you just can’t. Enough said. And I’m sure all of us here had been trapped before. Mentally, spiritually. When some circumstances forced us to be who we hated to be or forced us to suppress the feelings that makes our inside world goes round and round. Now this poem is closely linked to the dilemma and confusions faced by the persona and he eventually accepts them as these are part and parcel of life. it's called Trapped within emotions.

Trapped within emotions

Just like the devil and angel by my sides,
I am torn by feelings,
Confusions.
Didn’t know how to let them out
Didn’t know how to get by them;
I am trapped in my own soul,
Not being able to break free

I am confused,
So confused…

Between heaven and hell
I’m stranded on this unworthy air
Wondering around
Like a spirit
That just wouldn’t cross over
That belongs to neither here nor there

Again and again,
Happiness filled the void;
Again and again,
Disappointment shut my door tight…

Where do I belong?
Where shall I venture?
It doesn’t matter now,
Because it’s just part of life
That will cling to me for so long my breath is heard

Life's clock

Good day guys! Oh I totally forgotten that I don’t need to say ‘it’s Choon Hui here’ again. Ha-ha! Yup. My official blog just for your reminder XD

So as I was browsing through my collection of poems, I was thinking how fast the clock of life ticked its seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years away. (Phew! What a long one!) that is what I hate about time, that is why time is always against me. Hmm… against me?! Ah… whatever… Back to the point, where was I? Oh! About time. Right. So I decided to pick this particular poem to highlight how ‘pathetic’ time is. Just because you don’t have anyone and you existed ever since Lord knows when, doesn’t mean you can just steal all the precious time away from us =_=’ ha-ha I think Mr. Time will take revenge on what I said by making those boring classes last forever and those interesting ones will end within a blink of eye XD

Anyway, this poem is called Life’s Clock. Do comment and enjoy reading it.

Spring came and winter went
Flowers bloomed and nature sang.

I walked under an old oak tree
Leaves falling in the warm summer winds,
Filled my heart with tender breeze.

I picked a leaf beneath my feet
Soaked with strong smelling autumn scent,
Taken me aback.

Silent winter night, with cocoa in hand
I watch the snow-carpeted world through the glass,
How serene…

Has it really been years? That decades of my life has just been grabbed away,
Have I become a loyal slave of time?

Time come and go,
To where it flows,
I didn’t know.
Speeding off like a hurricane
That’s how it past.

Without a sound,
Without a hint,
That’s how it creeps away
Waits for no men, waits for nothing…
Nothing at all!
Not even a single freeze,
A break either.

Time heals, time hurts;
Someone returned to God,
Someone was sent to me on angel’s wings,
Everything comes and goes,
Once it is here, there’ll be no turning back;
But memories stay on.

Turning back time?
It just seemed light years away…
If only I could live till then…

God Bless.

A night out...

Hello guys! Finally this blog has officially become my own very blog! Ha-ha! And thanks to Weng Chung that all the little little things and features on the blog are settled and he has his own blog as well http://www.wengchung.wordpress.com/. Do visit him! =D anyway, I really hope you guys will like the whole new feel although the major features like the font style and theme hasn’t changed much, but still this represents me. I love simplicity. Life doesn’t need to be such complicated isn’t it? =D

Anyway… just went back to MBS for the mid-autumn festival celebration. I just don’t feel like going back at 1st, but I’m still a Chinese and furthermore it was my ex - Chinese language teacher who organized it together with the Chinese cultural society. The whole thing wasn’t as good as last year’s maybe because I can’t really see any familiar faces around and boy during dinner time the ‘kids’ were REALLY acting like hungry ghosts, even the parents were acting as if they had been in a starvation! But can’t blame them though, in this kind of situation, if you don’t ‘fight’ for your food, nothing would be left. Hahaha. So in the end, we just had some and we headed to McD for our supper ha-ha! What better place to go other than McD? XD

Oh by the way, that day’s ‘gang’ made up of Weng Chung, Jian Fung, Harry and me. All of them are from the same class but funny I’m always closer to those who are in different classes haha. So we chat and chat and chat about basically everything until Jian Fung suddenly suggested or was it me who suggested going for a late night movie. Unfortunately only Jian Fung and me were able to make it haha! So we head back to school for to take some photos with Mdm. Chong then off we go to Pavilion for a movie called dark or black water (I can’t even remember the name, it shows how lousy the show was)

Anyway these are some photos taken on that day.

A Shadow behind 'A tale, a story'

Hello guys! Can you believe it Weng Chung decided not to share this blog any more…(sobs…sobs…) but anyway he said it’s for the better since this will only make our readers confused. Well I kinda agree with him and felt bad for this as well since this is supposed to be OUR blog…but I just wanna say thanks for inviting me to join you as a ‘guest blogger’ at the very beginning and eventually a sharing partner of this ‘ex-blog’. It has been one of a kind of a blog I should say. For as mush as I love to share, it’s kinda sad that we no longer can share our words under a roof but in two parting worlds. (ok lar, not that big deal but I’m just not used to having my own blog) nevertheless thank you Weng Chung =)

Now first things first. It seemed that some of my readers were a little puzzled over the last poem that I’ve posted. Well guys, not to worry as it is always the beauty of poetry that there’s no room for unaccepted perceptions, as long as the rationale is at one with our wits =D The reason why I came up with this particular title is because I’m telling a story based on a tale and vise versa as you guys know ‘tale = story’. The very first sentence or word of the heading is like a ‘main branch’ of what is going to be told. For example, ‘Destiny of tomorrow ~ Dreams or sorrow?’ we never know what our destiny will be like, and based on this scenario of this poem, the persona is questioning is he living in his destiny or is he merely ‘foreseeing’ the sorrow that he is going to face in that ‘somewhere’ which is laid in his destiny? It’s like a sub-title if I were to put it in general terms. Apart from that, it’s just a very random title selection that came across my mind during the process of completing this poem. I tend to ‘experiment’ with this poem by simply incorporating some narration and fresh new concepts at the same time keeping my own style in pen which I mostly focused on the title itself. I always loved to name my poems in simple yet ‘foggy’ words. The title may not represent what my poems have to say, but somehow, there will be links to what the title means. That’s my unique way of conveying the message across.

Back to this poem. As I said before, the inspirations behind this whole piece of writing originated from a movie I’ve watched (which I don’t wish to disclose the title) and that very instant I knew that I have to write a poem about friendship, confusions, fate and ‘never-lasting’ human bonds, but a lasting, spiritual bond. This whole poem may seem a little weird as to why these two strangers will end up being at the ‘mountain’. Well I leave it to you, readers. Once again, it’s all up to your own interpretations. Some may think that all the ‘mountains’, ‘snows’ and ‘winter breeze’ can be said as life’s hustles and bustles, or it could merely be seen as a pure encounter. In fact I thought of expanding this poem a little longer by telling the dwelling lives of the two friends after they had separated and how to try to forget each other, but looking on the fact that time is running out for me (unfortunately), I created a ‘dramatic effect’ to the poem by telling the readers that one of them had actually passed away when the persona said:

Till I heard from you again,
Was the day when you came to my dreams of sane,
That Lord had released your humanly sufferings and pains…

This part may be inserted abruptly, but not many of the readers can catch it. Nevertheless, I do appreciate that some of you guys responded to my poems and generated all sorts of perceptions and thoughts to be pondered. So thanks a bunch and keep them coming! =D
Last but not least, this poem is all about friendship, contemplations and unexpected events in life. You see, there’s no such thing as control in your fate. Yes, they said one is always in control of your future, but we, humans, can only go according to what we had planned for, and the rest of it is up to The person above. This is where ‘hope’ comes in. everybody can hope, and we are mere shadows, following the path of life guided by HIM.

God bless,
ChoON hUI

A tale, a story

Hello! It’s Choon Hui on the pen again. As I’ve promised before in my previous blog, what you guys are about to witness will be a piece of writing which was my start off point as a whole new writing style in my poetry. This is the longest poem I’ve wrote by far and the whole poem is very narrative, plus readers can either take the literal meaning of it or the root significance of the poem as it can go both ways. This is a poem about how the spark of friendship being ignited and not everything in this world will end up being ‘happily-ever-after’. As you can see the headings before a particular stanza, it is like a tale within a tale, a story beneath a story. This is why I came up with the title ‘A tale, a story’. Do comment on it and enjoy it!

A tale, a story

(~ The very fate – Encounter ~)
The moon shines bright,
In the middle of a starry night,
With winter breeze that went so light.

Listening to the mountain’s song,
Where an eternal feeling came along,
Of how much hidden words were kept in thought.

Emotions strike at an instance,
Our thoughts seemed so distant.
Somehow, we were lost in that moment.

It seemed so far away
That memories will stay,
And never give its way.

Little eyes of heaven winked,
It made me thinks,
Are you and I in someway linked?

Perhaps, time had what installed for us.
For faith it is like a charmed curse,
Once it clings, there’ll be no returns.

For as long as time exist,
It is just like a twist,
Anytime, it will be a miss.

(~ Destiny of tomorrow – Dreams or sorrow? ~)
True feelings revealed.
It’s only within the mountains our secrets can be sealed,
Once broken, our wounds can never be healed.

We laughed on like there’s no tomorrow,
Even though I knew we’ll soon face our sorrows.
Resisting them, I buried those burdens beneath the snow.

Despite the frost, days were like the summer’s morning,
Where linnet and crickets came to sing.
Life to us was just goodness of what it brings.

Of faith and friendship it conquered all,
Leaving us in awe,
For our bond will never be tore.

Beyond the mountains high,
We sore through the sky
And our spirit will never die.

(~ Fate’s misty mist – Tempest unexpected ~)
In the midst of an airy song,
A sudden gloom came along.
Stoning us down with a burden so strong.

The snow had stopped and the sun had set.
A day with endless sobering laughter have we left
Our hearts twanged like a fish being caught in a net.

It was time,
It was time…
For us to go back to the gruesome dwelling of life.

The path of life
Of unseen melody and senses five,
Brings to nothingness without thy.

Down the hill we descend,
Full of jagged roads and rocky ends,
Brought out the sorrow voice of this quiet land.

(~ Turmoil in Tears – A bleeding tale ~)
I saw you through the reflection,
A figure that will not be forgotten
Even if the world is torn open.

Sadness seemed to swallow us like a savage beast.
My heart sores and our hearts bleed,
And silent tears fell down like broken beads.

Have You not heard?
Of how much sadness and hurt
Had we endured?

(~ Destiny’s sparks – Will, or Never? ~)
Back to the valley of beginning,
Where our friendship budded like the flowers in the spring.
Separation doubted us, will this be the ending?

It still bites on as we went our separate ways,
And everyday,
It dragged us to the very deep of darkest rays

How I longed to see your face,
How fast time flew with its ever-hasty pace,
And how empty my soul was, when you banished without a trace!

(~ Gone with the wind - A shell’s emptiness ~)
Till I heard from you again,
Was the day when you came to my dreams of sane,
That Lord had released your humanly sufferings and pains…

Everything seemed to run in still,
Even heavenly beings and divine Mother mourned after you…
And I, I! The eager soul you’ve just killed…

The sun shines without its magnificent brightness,
The wind blew without its southern coolness,
The flowers bloomed without their petite loveliness…

Please let this be all a dream,
For I’ll plead in Your heavenly gleam,
Let me be in Time where we’ve been…

It turned to vain,
Still You whispered ‘for I will ease your pain’
No and no! that bloody stain will be forever remained!

(~ Book of Life – A page of forgotten time ~)
To search for a friend like you is like a million years,
I faced you with fear,
But in turn you let me to blissfulness so near…

For all the thoughts we had,
Secrets were shared and never were kept.
But something that I’ve never dared…

Was letting you know how much a friend you were,
And never mind if you are in heaven or here,
The music of our memories is all that mattered…

It is I should say a very emotional poem to me, as I am a friend to many people as well and I really do hope that you, dear readers will try to connect this poem to your daily lives and cherish each and every moment with your close friends and not only that, even your loved ones, they are always there for you to love, to treasure them. It may not seem such a big deal to you now, but believe me, once you lost them, nothing is worth your tears and remorse.
