Updates from blue moon city

Hi all, wengchung here. Its been sOOOOooo  so so long since I write a post. Because of Choon Hui's reminder, I was forced to write something. No la, I was planning to write one few days ago..or was it 1 week ago..hahha. Anyway, due to procrastination as always, I ended up writing once in a blue moon post. Lazy Lazy me.

Ok, so I started form 6 for 2 weeks now and now it's holiday for another 2 weeks.. Hurray for me !!! Hmm, form 6 was rather okay, slightly better than I expected. Not because of the girls, but somehow I felt that high school is better than college, maybe brainwashed by my brother who said college is not good..but I think he's right. And since all of us are 18 now, the class is rather quiet than in form 5 when there are no teachers around. I think me and my friend was the only most talkative among others..hahha..

Last Thursday, we were asked to stay back for a meeting by the Upper 6 and they brief us about the orientation week and there will be tele match...nightmare, I'm not good in sports ! And then, we also have to asked signatures from the seniors during the orientation week... " If they ask u to kiss a tree, you must kiss. if they ask u to sing the school song in front of public, also must sing"  -.-''' Why do this la...sign oni ler..

Then on Friday was Teachers Day !! Happy Happy me...no studies ! I expected a boring day and yet for the first time I was wrong ! hahha it was actually pretty fun. Why fun? It was hilarious !! OMG let me tell u , the most hilarious performance was the guy who sang " My Heart will Go On" by Celion Dion...His pitch and everything were all off..lol...Everytime he sang the chorus part with his 'superb" vocal , every1 was clapping for him...lol okok enough..don't laugh at him. I salute his bravery to stand in front of every1. And there was another damn funny performance which is sort of like breakdance or street dance by 4 ppl. lolololol Damn damn funny !! That guy who is dancing or whatever he was doing is as if he was having stroke or what...Hand waving and his feet was dancing as if he was stepping cockroaches...Even some of the students went out and show the guys how to even dance correctly. If we were allowed to bring phone on tat day, I certainly would LOVE to show the video to all of u. LOL. FUNNY !! Anyway HAPPY TEACHERS DAY to the teachers..=D

Now that it's holiday time again, great feeling of excitement begin all over again. But it's only 2 weeks, but hey what more could you ask for? A month? In our dreams... Sometimes I still ponder upon my decision to come back for form6...so many subjects to study...5 actually but its equivalent to 10. If college ,I just have to study my course of choice. *slap SLAP* wake up ... Since I already made the decision to come back, don't think anymore !!

But...but..

Form 6 is really really really REALLLY tough ..REALLY... so holiday time = study time + less entertainment . A perfect equation ?  You should be in my shoes.

DBKL aka Dari Bandar Ke LUMPUR aka From City To MUD

Hey there people! Hello once again it’s been awhile since I’ve last blogged…haha…and as a quick reminder, UNCLE SIEW!!!! POST A BLOG!!!!!!!!! :-P
Now, cut straight to the point. As the title suggested, Dari Bandar Ke Lumpur as translated will become ‘From City to Mud’. Well I guess everyone now may wonder what does it has to do with DBKL or is it about the City Hall? BINGO…you got that right!! It’s precisely what I’m talking about. Now as a LITERATURE SUTDENT…(ahheeemmm) from the title itself it suggests the performance of our country’s City Hall. Well I’m not going to use any offensive or vulgar wordings being a civilized citizen as I am…(AHHHEEEMMM) but u get what I mean. And there’s no use of such wordings to describe this ‘bunch’ of…. U decide as Mud is enough to describe them. It could be worse, but as I say, we are civilized HUMANS. Well after reading The Star newspaper on page M4 today, it came such a delight to me that there were three demonstrations in a day about the City Hall!!! Not surprising anyway…but I guess these people (dbkl) are not going to give a damn about this (AS USUAL…)

We can say that the City Hall is one of the sources of our country’s developments, but is it true?
We can say that the City Hall is doing our country and nation well, but HOW FAR THE TRUTH IS???
We can say that the City Hall is doing their job, but HOW SURE ARE WE???

All I can say is promise is just mere disappointment. I’m always wondering, each year large sums of money is basically ‘generated’ for them and what have they actually done for us? Oh yes!! Lots of it!! Crashing down food stalls small business area without a PROPER REASON, pending the appeals, license etc without any reasons and worse still, rejecting them. and the reason they give, oh, there’re just tooooo many things to be done and it’s not only your issue we’re dealing with blah blah blah… what utter crap and nonsense is this! Come on mann, u people have no reason at all to reject the license and applications of the citizens who had meet and fulfilled all the requirements that has been stated. Back to the article I’ve just read, again, about demolishing stalls and building unnecessary ‘objects’ that’ll obstruct the convenience of the public and the citizens is their nature. Its just a way to shut our mouths and say that ‘oh!! See, we’ve done so many major developments and improvements to the society BLAH BLAH BLAH’ oh yes indeed, indeed =_= but still, back to the point, the rights of the citizens and the situation has to be taken into consideration for goodness sake! U can’t just go around demolishing stuff and rebuilt again and VOOOSHH…there goes another project and what about the citizens? For instance let us refer to the third demonstration of the day whereby residents of Kg. Abdullah Hukum were unsatisfied about the pending lists of residents to be moved to a new apartment as promise. All they want is an answer. That’s all and yet again, pending without any reasons… that is what you call a responsible LOCAL AUTHORITY? Hello!! (KNOCK KNOCK!!) Reality check here… you don’t aspect the citizens will just keep quiet and think they’ll be as dumb as a wood like those days…century has changed people!

And talking about abandoned projects, I can say ‘what a disgrace to our country!’ where has all the money been to? Into their pot bellies? Hmmm… something to think about. I have just the perfect example right beside my apartment where there’s this soon-to-be multi-purpose complex which mainly consists of the wet and dry market and even a library =_= ?! and according to the huge notice and details board in front, it was supposed to be completed at the end of 2006…how shameful is that… furthermore its just a 2 or 3 stories building and is not that enormous that you need a long time to complete. I’m sure that you guys had witnessed those unfinished project that stood in the middle of a nice crafted landscape like a piece of rotten metal I would call that. One thing its so displeasing to the eyes and the view and secondly it shows that we can’t even afford to finish such minor projects, don’t even talk about those huge ones. In Singapore, you can never, never see this happening.

Sometimes one may not be bothered about it coz they know that they can’t actually do much about it. And I’m not going to raise the fact about racial issues but to let you guys to ponder about it. Not just that, as long as you have MONEY, everything will be well settled… now u know what I’m talking about. Well of course this also happens in other major departments and authorities…but don’t you think it’s a little unfair for those people who are of low salary payment? God knows what you’ve done. Enough said.

What we hoped for is just to perform your duties and responsibilities accordingly and at least give the people some valid answer and explanation on the reason why a particular issue is rejected, pended and etc. and please…do good to the people and we’ll truly appreciate it.

F6 Registration Day

Hey all, just a quick update on yesterday event. Eventually it wasn't the first day of school. It was just the process of queuing up and write ur name and sign and give them the documents they wanted. ops.. too much "and". Luckily, I arrived earlier and there was only a few people there, so that's one good thing about waking up early. While waiting for my turn, Pn Gan came in and scolded some boys  for having punk or stylish hair and I think she didn't allow those who are having long hairs to register. She told them to come the next day only after they cut their hair. Pity them. I can feel the anger of those student and I told Thiam Sang that they surely started to hate the school and regret coming here. And I did something embarrassing in front of everyone, lol I wouldn't say about it.Luckily I manage to compose myself and act as if nothing happen.

All in all, it was quite pathetic to come to school with school uniform, register and then go home. The process took less than 10 mins... pathetic right? I was early, so couldn't spot any pretty girls, but while coming out of the class I saw some who could make it into my pretty girls list. My friend said some look like pork chop..lol.. Oh ya, pity Andrew also, he said " Haven't start school already need to do work ! " I think the teachers asked him to do something as he was running up and down.

Tomorrow will be official day for starting school... Have to wake up earlier... And the schedule for this whole week is boringness to the core. 3 solid days of talk by the teachers... Hope I won't fall asleep in class. If I do, I ought to be forgiven coz u know why la.. Who manage to keep me awake will get present on teachers day ! lol  Or I could result in slapping myself to keep awake...Ouch

I walk back from LRT station alone for the first time in my life. The road look so much shorter when you are sitting in the car...duh. Why is the weather so hot ?!

Oh ya, thanks Choon Hui for ur oh-so-lovely motivation and I will never give up !! Lets make it through the rain, shall we?

Stand Strong and you'll Make it Through The Rain

hey everyone...its Choon Hui here..for God knows what reason that i suddenly had the urge to blog today..muahaha..well i'm in the midst of doin some research for my law assignment thats gonna drown me with words... =.='' haha..anyway after browsing through the blog only i noticed Weng Chung had 'blogged' a post telling how frustrated was him upon hearing the 'devastating'..well i wouldn't call it devastating..disappointed..hah!! much better...i'm very to hear that as that STUPID @#@$%#@x<<@#@ pak cik wong doesn't know a sh** bout what he's doin...u know what...do ask ur parents and make some noise...u have to...but anyway..for whatever thats gonna happened or destined..don't ever give up on ur dreams and desires as i know that u'll make it through and since u said ur instinct told u that u're going into arts...then trust ur best fren! that means GOD is silently communicating with you...don't let such minor obstacle halt you from pursuing what you wanted in life coz form 6 determines ur future...so i' have a poem here for you and may u never give up and all the best in ur future undertakings..remember the lyrics from a song by Mariah Carey...

"I can make it through the rain, I can stand up once again, on my own and I know that i'm strong enough to mend and everytime i feel afraid, i hold tight on to my Faith, and I live, one more day and i MAKE IT THROUGH THE RAIN..."

(Believe…)

Goal in life,
Sometimes is hard to strike;
But what we do is only dive,
Deep into the sea of cries.

What’s the point of letting go?
Despite dreams we’ve searched high and low;
Listen to your heart and feel the flow,
Towards our dreams and off we go.

Though the journey is far and rough,
Trust God and he’ll bring us through;
Away from harm and darkness die,
He’ll guide us to where our future lies.

with lots of blessings from Lord Buddha and your Buddy Choon Hui ;-)

Nervous...and then disappointed

Hey all !! This is Mariah. Nah... u wouldn't fall for that. 1st of all, as all of you had already know, this month's theme is all about Mariah and Choon Hui did a great job introducing her to us. I'm not a crazy Mariah fan or honeybee but he is, hahha so he'll do all the posting about Mariah and I will go on as usual with my post. 1st post from me in the month of May, no more once in a blue moon post, even if I was not posting, Uncle Choon Hui will force me to, so not to worry.

Okay, so yesterday students who are eagerly waiting for form6 list to come can finally, yes FINALLY check if they are in the list of the school they wanted to study in.Checked mine and I'm in the list.No need for celebration or whatever coz it's not a big deal. The shocking news was starting school in the 12 which is next week !! It's so sudden and honestly, after a long long holiday, who wouldn't be shocked if school is starting next week without prior notice. All they said was " REGISTER " and I presumed it wasn't the 1st day of school. My instinct told me it wouldn't just be a REGISTER day coz stated on the online offer letter was to wear school uniform. And I'm always right.

After months of waiting, I ponder upon my decision whether going to form6 is a right choice after knowing tat form6 is starting soon. Mentally and physically not prepared... I woke up from my dream of vacation in my home everyday and shifted to school mode. After all, I wouldn't want to look like a complete idiotic bafoon  not knowing anything in class after months of holiday. Brain is getting so so rusty that it could break anytime when nodding ur head.lol. School U that was tucked in the wardrobe and untouched for few months, I wonder if it still fits me. And everything is still not prepared and class is starting next week ! That feeling, that weird feeling in your heart every time you start the 1st day of school is taking control of me. So, that's the NERVOUS part of the story.

Now come the DISAPPOINTING part, Thiam Sang and I went to school today to take the offer letter from school, which could be print online but..because I heard many students went to school to take the letter, so I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. My instinct told me the letter would be the same as the online letter, and guess what, I am always right. Just that additional signature from the person in charge on the letter, wasted our money ,energy and time to go to school and take the letter which can be print online!! but on the bright side, we took that opportunity to ask about the details of form6 on changing from Science to Arts stream.

Before that, we went to photocopy the offer letter so we can keep the original and the photocopied letter could be certified. And some other documents to be certified as well. Since we are at school, might as well get it done but we didn't bring along the originals, so everything cannot be certified.=(  Back to the matter of changing to Art stream, that was really a shock. A shock bigger than the earthquake, well not that big but you'll get what I mean. The teacher in charge told us that in order to get into that specified Art class which only has accounts, we need to get at least 8As in SPM. I wanted to do accounting and that hope was as if a feather hanging on the edge of the cliff now. I only got 6As and I'm really angry , no thanks to the principal who set this " rule " of 8As which I never heard of in my 5 years of studying in that school.

Why this rule ? Coz the principal wants all the best student in that Art class. It was rather funny when you think about it. You see, I was accepted to the Science class, but with that 8A rule, changing to Arts is difficult. Isn't SCIENCE studies more difficult than ARTS ?? yet now my chances to change to Art class is slimmer. And I scored A in accounts, so I hope they'll let me change based on that.So that means  I am going to stuck in Science *touchwood* if my appeal to change to Arts is unsuccessful *touchwood*. But my instinct told me I am going to make it into Arts class ! yeah ! * fingers crossed *

If you have set this 8As rule, at least inform us so that those who wanted to go for Art class in form6 could have easily went to college and not to wait until now. Okay, it gets kinda frustrating when I think about it now. So, just let it be and I'll see what happens next week. The aftermath of that shock made us forget to return the visitor pass back to the guard, well actually Thiam Sang was the one who actually forgotten about it until I reminded him. He shouldn't be worrying at all coz he got 10As.

Such an unlucky day eh ? It could be worst. I guess I should start preparing now for form 6. Thanks for reading and have a good day ! Take Care !! =D

She is a Singing Butterfly...

hey there!!! i've written a poem dedicated to this SINGING BUTTERFLY a few months back but haven't really got the right chance to post yet until this very moment..haha

(She is a singing butterfly)

A voice as graceful as an angel
A soul as gentle as a mother’s touch
A posture as elegant as a Goddess of Greek
A heart as beautiful as a blooming flower
A butterfly who sings as the butterfly touches the people’s hearts…
With songs that inspiring and soothing
She is a singing butterfly…

there you go...the silent words have it all :-)

Simply Marvelous! WHO? MC!!!

OMG!!! Its MARIAH people!!! THE ONE AND ONLY MIMI!!!haha..finally I’ve waited for this month’s header…haha…oh yeah..and by the way people…do u guys noticed that this is the month of ‘MAY’ M..M..M…OH YES!! It’s the letter M!!! M~~MARIAH?! Haha..how cool’s that!! Heehee..sorry people…I’ll go havoc whenever it comes to MC..ok..like I promised u guys to continue frm my previous post about Mariah, here I come..haha…

Once we fans or as in HONEY BEES..haha..thats what she called her fans…talked bout Mariah…she’s known for her versatility, dynamics and of course…her multi –octaves voice which lied above the soprano range of any human being!!! And this is what we call the ‘whistle register’ whereby only 3 singers on this world possessed…and guess what there’s no other singer in this world that can hold a higher note that her!!! Check this out

(Carey is said to be able to cover all the notes from the alto vocal range leading to those of a coloratura soprano, and her vocal trademark is her ability to sing in the whistle register. She has cited Minnie Riperton as the greatest influence on her singing technique and from a very early age, she attempted to emulate Riperton's high notes, to increasing degrees of success as her vocal range expanded. According to most sources, she has a five-octave vocal range, though some credit her with seven or eight octaves.[91][100] According to The Guinness Book of Records, there is no other singer who can hold a higher note than Carey. In 2003, her voice was ranked first in MTV and Blender magazine's countdown of the 22 Greatest Voices in Music, as voted by fans and readers in an online poll. Carey said of the poll, "What it really means is voice of the MTV generation. Of course, it's an enormous compliment, but I don't feel that way about myself.") [Courtesy of WIKIPEDIA & MTV]

There you go…some compliments for her BIG voice from the industry…she 1st emerged herself singing ‘Vision of Love’ at the NBA court where no one knew who she was until the song was sang showing off her powerful notes that blew everyone away…and Vision of Love is the very 1st single from her self-titled debut album that climbed to the top 100 Billboard charts and remain at No. 1 for weeks… so I’ll recommend u guys some songs that really portraits her ‘dolphin’ voice ..haha..try listening to:
1. I wish you knew (frm the album THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI)
2. Fly like a bird (THE EMANCIPATION OF MIMI)
3. I wish you well (E=MC2)
4. Bringing on the heartbreak (CHARMBRACELET)

Hah…there’s just too much to say about this wonderful singer..apart form her multi-octaves voice, she’s also a multi-Grammy winner!!! Haha..she’s also the Artist of the Millennium during 2000 which was REALLY huge…oh yes..and not forget her 18th no.1 single Touch My Body had successfully made her surpassed Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll…now The former Queen of ballad-turned-Queen of Pop and soul rulled the charts once more baby!!haha… Now..there’re a few songs that I had became so fond of that I just cant stop repeating them over and over again till i feel like throwing out..haha..here it goes
1. Bye Bye (E=MC2)
2. Through the Rain (CHARMBRACELET)
3. For The Record (E=MC2)
4. Never forget you (MUSICBOX)
5. One Sweet Day (DAYDREAM)
Bye bye is a song that really touched my heart as the lyrics are so sweet and meaningful that u just can’t bare the bitterness to a certain point…and Through The Rain was another song that she'd written after her breakdown and inspiring one not to give out and one day you’ll definitely make it through..
she’s just one gifted singer who not only believed that everything in her life is granted to her by God, but also she’s someone who have faith in everything she does and this contributes to her international success today!!! So I am hoping that MIMI you’ll surpass the Beatles and since u’ve already became the BEST SELLING FEMALE ARTIST, I’m sure that you’ll eventually make it to the ARTIST WITH THE MOST NO. 1 SINGLES IN THE HISTORY OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY!! Way to go MC and somewhere across the world, you’ll always be kept in my prayers.. :-)
